Parts start at $45.00, our minimum order — a small one on its own costs that whatever it is cut from, and small parts ordered together share one minimum. Above the minimum the price follows the size of the part, the material and how long it takes to cut.

what we can cut
- profiles cut all the way through, to the outline in your file.
- pockets to a depth you set, measured down from the top face.
- drilled holes, with a coned bottom — a drill bit leaves a point, not a flat floor.
- inside corners come out with a radius. leave them, add relief cuts, or pay to have them squared by hand.
a panel shop, without the phone call
This is custom CNC routing for sheet goods — wood routing and CNC fabrication of flat parts: profiling a part to its outline, cutting custom shapes and custom cutouts, pocketing to a set depth, and drilling. If you have used a CNC router before, it is the work you would send to a panel shop — an outline, some holes, a pocket or two — except that you get the price from the router itself rather than waiting on someone to work it out.
Sculpting, 3D relief carving and engraving are real work we take on, but they are not things a quoter can price from an outline — send those through as a custom job and we will quote them properly.

- how big a part can you cut in ultralight mdf?
- up to 46 x 94in (117 x 239cm) in one piece. we cut from full sheets and keep 1in (25mm) clear at every edge to hold the sheet down. anything bigger has to be cut in parts and joined, which we quote by hand as a custom job.
- which thicknesses of ultralight mdf do you stock?
- 1/2", 3/4" and 1" — the table above gives each one's actual thickness. every one is cut with a 1/4in end mill, so inside corners come out with a 1/8in (3mm) radius: leave them rounded, add relief cuts so a square part still seats, or have them squared by hand. the configurator draws each choice before you order.
- what does a ultralight mdf part cost?
- a small part on its own is the $45 order minimum, whatever it's cut from, and small parts in one order share one minimum. above that the price follows the part's size, the thickness and how long it takes to cut — a 24 x 48in (61 x 122cm) half sheet runs $45.00 to $67.31 across the thicknesses. upload your file and the configurator prices it exactly; sales tax is added at checkout.
- how long does it take, and how do i get it?
- about 10 business days, or 5 with expedite (+20%). that's when the parts are cut and ready: pick them up free at the shop in Santee, or we deliver on our tue and thu run, free within 20 miles (32 km) of the shop. a part small enough for a parcel can go UPS.
- can i return a part?
- no — every part is cut to your file, so there is nothing we could resell. a part that wasn't cut to your file within ±1/16in (±1.5mm) is recut free.
